BENGALURU, Aug. 10 -- Karnataka Chief minister DK Shivakumar reached Delhi on Sunday evening to meet the Congress central leadership over the allocation of portfolios to 19 newly inducted ministers, amid disquiet among several ministers who are reportedly pushing for departments of their choice ahead of the legislature's Monsoon Session beginning August 13. The allocation is likely to be finalised on Monday. Right-wing commentator TG Mohandas was taken into police custody from his residence in Kochi on Sunday, days after being charged for making provocative comments in a video about the CJP-led protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, an officer said. Mohandas was taken into custody by a team of Cyber Crime police in Thiruvananthapuram at the former's residence in Mattancherry in Kochi. A suspected Bangladeshi smuggler was shot dead by BSF personnel in Tripura's Ukakoti district, police said on Sunday. During a patrol along the Indo-Bangladesh border at Maguruli on Saturday, jawans spotted a group of suspected smugglers. "When challenged, they tried to attack the troops. BSF personnel fired in retaliation, in which one, later identified to be a Bangladeshi, was killed," an officer said....
