Lucknow, Oct. 3 -- The Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has directed all power distribution companies to create dedicated WhatsApp groups for consumers facing electricity supply interruptions, with a focus on high-load consumers. In an order issued by UPPCL chairman Ranvir Prasad on September 30, distribution divisions have been asked to create separate WhatsApp groups for consumers with a connected load of 250 kW and above in rural areas and 500 kW and above in urban areas. The groups will provide information on disruptions and the progress and expected duration of restoration. They will also help them lodge complaints.
