Lucknow, Sept. 5 -- The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has dismissed a petition seeking directives to stop the release of the Akshay Kumar-starrer 'Jolly LLB 3'. The court held that there was "nothing objectionable" in the trailer, teaser of the film or the lyrics of a song in it. The petition targeted the song 'Bhai Vakeel Hai' and even sought a stay on the film, over allegations that it defamed the judiciary and the legal profession. A division bench of Justice Sangeeta Chandra and Justice Brij Raj Singh passed the order on September 2 in response to a petition filed by Jay Vardhan Shukla and another person. After reviewing the song 'Bhai Vakeel Hai', along with the teaser and trailer of 'Jolly LLB 3', the court concluded that nothing in the content was offensive or disrespectful to the dignity of the legal system. The petition was opposed by the central government counsel stating that the plea had been filed without giving representation to the authority concerned, hence it was not maintainable.
