HC seeks probe status in lawyer death case
Prayagraj, June 10 -- The Allahabad High Court has sought an update on the investigation into the death of advocate Jagriti Shukla, who allegedly died due to medical negligence after suffering injuries in a road accident.
Hearing two PILs filed by Amit Kumar Singh alias Sonu and Mamta Singh, a division bench of Justice Salil Kumar Rai and Justice Swarupama Chaturvedi directed state counsel to apprise the court of the progress made in the FIR lodged by a woman advocate who had accompanied Shukla to Swaroop Rani Nehru (SRN) Hospital on May 20.
The petitions allege that doctors and staff at SRN Hospital misbehaved with Shukla's attendants and that the investigation is being conducted unfairly to shield those responsible. Shukla was later shifted to a private hospital and then to SGPGI, Lucknow, where she died on Monday after battling her injuries for 18 days. The court has clubbed both PILs and fixed the matter for further hearing on June 10.htc...
