HC junks plea against notice to raze lawyers' chambers
LUCKNOW, Oct. 11 -- The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court on Saturday dismissed a petition challenging the show-cause notice issued by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation regarding the demolition of lawyers' alleged illegal chambers around the district court complex here.
A division bench of Justice Alok Mathur and Justice Abdhesh Kumar Chaudhary passed the order after an urgent hearing on a petition filed by Vivek Maurya and another lawyer.
The court said all aspects of the case had been decided by the Supreme Court, the Allahabad high court and the civil court, and therefore, there was no basis for interference.
With this observation, the court dismissed the petition. To recall, the high court had previously ordered the removal of illegal chambers near the Lucknow district court premises in response to a public interest litigation. HTC...
