Lucknow, May 14 -- Filing a petition in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court by concealing facts proved costly for a litigant. The court imposed a cost (fine) of Rs 1 lakh on the petitioner. This order was passed by a single judge bench of justice Brij Raj Singh recently, dismissing the petition of Chandrama Devi Agrahari. During the hearing, the court found that the petitioner had challenged a summoning order issued by the Sultanpur additional chief judicial magistrate in a criminal complaint case. However, she had also filed a revision petition against the same order before the Sultanpur Sessions Court. This fact was not disclosed by the petitioner in her petition. The court took this seriously and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the petitioner, of which Rs 30,000 will be given to the complainant in the case, while Rs 70,000 will be payable to the State Legal Services Authority.htc...
