HC advocate crushed to death by speeding SUV
PRAYAGRAJ, June 1 -- A 32-year-old high court advocate, Dharmendra Yadav, lost his life after being hit and run over by a speeding SUV on Saturday night in the Colonelganj area in Prayagraj. According to police, the incident occurred around 10 pm near Gobar Gali when Dharmendra was returning to his residence in Allapur from Civil Lines on his motorcycle. A Safari SUV, reportedly speeding from the opposite direction, first collided with his bike with great force, throwing him several feet across the road. The driver then allegedly ran over him before fleeing the scene, abandoning the victim in a critical condition.
Dharmendra Yadav, a resident of Dharsauna village in Cholapur, Varanasi, had been practicing at the HC in Prayagraj for the past five years. The deceased's elder brother, Jitendra Yadav, informed that Dharmendra had travelled to the Varanasi court earlier that day for work and returned to Prayagraj in the evening shortly before the accident. Police have registered a case against an unidentified driver and launched an investigation.
