Haryana man among 8 booked in Ayodhya land extortion case
LUCKNOW, July 30 -- A dispute over a prime Ayodhya land parcel worth several crores has escalated into an alleged extortion and intimidation case, with Ambedkar Nagar police registering a court-directed FIR after a petrol pump owner accused a Haryana-based man and seven others of demanding Rs.3 crore and threatening him with abduction and murder if he refused to sell the property for Rs.50 lakh.
The FIR was registered on Wednesday on the directions of a court following a complaint by Surendra Nath Pandey, who owns a petrol pump on the Akbarpur-Tanda Road.
According to the complaint, the dispute relates to a parcel of land in Ayodhya that is the subject of an ongoing civil case. Pandey alleged that a sale agreement was executed on April 23, 2024, but the nominated purchaser neither met him nor paid the agreed consideration despite his willingness to honour the agreement.htc...
