PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 4 -- Commissioner of police, Prayagraj, Piyush Mordia has suspended Handia SHO Anup Saroj and sub-inspector Brijesh Singh following allegations that they accepted a Rs 4 lakh bribe in a property dispute but failed to act, officials said on Thursday. The action followed a departmental inquiry into a complaint by Prayagraj businessman Rohan Srivastava, who alleged that a house he purchased in Dhaurhara was illegally reoccupied by the sellers and their associates. Though an FIR was registered, Srivastava alleged no concrete action was taken. He further alleged that Brijesh Singh accepted Rs 4 lakh, promising to restore possession.
