LUCKNOW, March 9 -- On the occasion of International Women's Day, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel felicitated women achievers from various districts of the state with certificates at a programme held at Jan Bhavan on Sunday. Around 200 women associated with fields such as police, military, administration, education, village leadership, agricultural production organisations, social service and entrepreneurship attended the event. During the programme, several achievers shared details about their ventures, technologies and innovations. Women who started businesses under CM's Youth Entrepreneur Scheme also spoke about their experiences. Addressing the gathering, the Governor encouraged women to become self-reliant and take leadership roles. Patel appreciated the work of Green Army women from Varanasi, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra districts who collect old clothes and convert them into garments and slippers.
