Mumbai, May 21 -- Shortages of petrol and diesel led to protests and clashes at fuel pumps across Maharashtra on Wednesday, said police. In Jalgaon district's Mhasavad area, two men allegedly stabbed a 21-year-old petrol pump employee, Tushar Gaurav,after he told them the pump was out of stock. The incident was captured on CCTV footage, said officers, adding that a manhunt was launched for the accused. Gaurav was admitted to a local hospital. Several clips showing clashes circulated widely on social media. In Buldhana, a scuffle broke out after a pump employee refused to fill petrol in a bottle. In Washim, people waiting for hours in queues reportedly attacked each other with plastic cans to collect diesel. In Parola town, people reportedly blocked a stretch of highway outside a petrol pump.
