LUCKNOW, Sept. 10 -- The Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) has imposed a total fine of Rs 5.90 lakh on food business operators in Lucknow after laboratory tests found several food products to be substandard. The court of Adjudicating Officer MP Singh decided 10 cases based on samples collected during enforcement drives. A medical store in Rajajipuram was fined Rs 1 lakh for substandard honey, while a company faced penalties of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 85,000 for substandard refined palmolein and soybean oils. A milk outlet in Dali Bagh was fined Rs 65,000. Other penalties included Rs 50,000 each for substandard khoya and raisins, Rs 45,000 for paneer, Rs 25,000 for buffalo milk and Rs 20,000 for mixed milk.
