Lucknow, Aug. 25 -- Talent from Uttar Pradesh's smaller cities, neighbourhoods and streets found a state-level spotlight as the four-month-long 'Voice of UP' talent hunt culminated in Lucknow, bringing together young singers and poets from 11 cities. The grand finale at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Gomti Nagar, saw contestants, who had emerged through auditions across the state, compete before an audience and jury, underlining a changing landscape where young artists increasingly need platforms rather than migration to traditional entertainment hubs such as Mumbai and Delhi. Rehan Ali of Noida emerged winner in the singing category, while Shreya Sharma of Agra was adjudged first runner-up and Varin Kakkar of Noida finished second runner-up. In the poetry category, Aryansh Arora from Basti district won the 'Voice of UP' title. Kavya Agarwal of Agra was the first runner-up, while Vindhya Malviya of Varanasi secured the second runner-up position. The initiative, jointly organised by Hindustan and Fever FM, travelled through Agra, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, Bareilly, Aligarh, Kanpur, Lucknow, Meerut, Noida, Varanasi and Moradabad during its four-month journey. The biggest takeaway from the initiative was the breadth of talent emerging from cities beyond the conventional cultural centres. From Basti and Varanasi to Agra and Noida, the finalists represented different geographies and backgrounds, demonstrating that artistic talent in the state is not restricted to its major urban centres. The event was attended by renowned folk singer and Padma Shri awardee Malini Awasthi, who was the chief guest. Rohini Ramnathan, chief content officer Fever FM, was also present on the occasion. The organisers said the initiative was conceived around the idea that the digital age has significantly reduced geographical barriers for young talent. With social media and digital platforms offering artists direct access to audiences, youngsters today can build an identity without necessarily relocating to metropolitan entertainment hubs. Against this backdrop, 'Voice of UP' positioned itself not merely as a talent hunt but as an attempt to create a larger platform for the state's emerging artistic voices-giving young singers and poets an opportunity to be heard, recognised and connected with audiences beyond their own cities....
