CHENNAI, Sept. 29 -- A fresh case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act was registered against granite baron R Veeramani following a complaint by a woman who alleged that her daughter was sexually abused by the accused when she was a minor, a police officer said on Monday. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Tamil Nadu Police registered the case against Veeramani, chairman of Gem group of companies, who is currently in police custody over another sexual abuse case, an officer aware of the details said. Veeramani, 84, was arrested under Pocso in August and three of his associates - Ganeshan, a former employee; Shanthi, and her husband Mahandra Simhan, who allegedly played key roles in abuse of minors, have also been arrested. Veeramani, Shanthi and Simhan are currently in police custody until October 8. On Monday, a woman of an alleged victim, appeared before the SIT in Chennai, and filed a complaint.
