LUCKNOW, Aug. 2 -- Fresh allegations of irregularities at Uttar Pradesh's Automated Testing Stations (ATS) have prompted the transport department to order inquiries into two separate cases in Unnao and Ghaziabad, raising fresh concerns over the transparency and reliability of the state's automated vehicle fitness certification system. The complaints, lodged within a week, come days after action was initiated against an ATS in Bijnor, where fitness certificates of over 10,000 vehicles were allegedly issued without the vehicles being physically tested, leading to cancellation of the centre's registration certificate.
