Four cops hurt as Gkp BJP MLA's escort vehicle crashes into SRTC bus
GORAKHPUR, May 12 -- Four police personnel escorting BJP MLA Rajesh Tripathi were injured after their vehicle collided with a Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) bus near Kauriram in Gorakhpur district on Monday morning, officials confirmed.
BJP MLA from Chillupar, Rajesh Tripathi, escaped unhurt in the accident. According to officials, the MLA was travelling from Barhalganj to Gorakhpur in a luxury vehicle to attend a BJP core committee meeting. His escort team was travelling in a Bolero vehicle, which reportedly rammed into a roadways bus near Kauriram.
The injured police personnel were immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Doctors said that two of the injured, including driver Rajnarayan Shukla and constable Abhishek Yadav, were in serious condition and remained under observation. The condition of the other injured personnel was stated to be stable.
After receiving information about the incident, representatives of Barhalganj Nagar Panchayat chairman Mahesh Umar and several BJP leaders reached the spot. htc...
