Focus on cattle shelters in meet
LUCKNOW, Dec. 30 -- To ensure that benefits of government welfare schemes reach people on time, a divisional review meeting on development works across all districts was held on Monday under the chairmanship of divisional commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant.
Reviewing widening and strengthening works for 2025-26, Pant directed all district magistrates to expedite tender approvals so that projects start within the stipulated timeframe. He stressed inter-departmental coordination, transparency in the tender process, and regular monitoring of work quality and progress at the ground level.
During a review of cattle protection measures, Pant ordered the introduction of a shift system for caretakers at cow shelters to ensure round-the-clock care. He emphasised sanitation, regular inspections, compulsory fodder sowing on grazing land, and adequate arrangements at shelters during the cold wave.
He also instructed district magistrates and chief development officers to regularly inspect night shelters, ensuring cleanliness, blankets, lighting, heaters and security there. HTC...
