LUCKNOW, Dec. 30 -- To ensure that benefits of government welfare schemes reach people on time, a divisional review meeting on development works across all districts was held on Monday under the chairmanship of divisional commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant. Reviewing widening and strengthening works for 2025-26, Pant directed all district magistrates to expedite tender approvals so that projects start within the stipulated timeframe. He stressed inter-departmental coordination, transparency in the tender process, and regular monitoring of work quality and progress at the ground level. During a review of cattle protection measures, Pant ordered the introduction of a shift system for caretakers at cow shelters to ensure round-the-clock care. He emphasised sanitation, regular inspections, compulsory fodder sowing on grazing land, and adequate arrangements at shelters during the cold wave.
