Jamshedpur, Feb. 8 -- Police have filed a first information report (FIR) in connection with the 2025 incident of thalassemia patient kids contracting HIV virus allegedly during blood transfusion in Jharkhand's Chaibasa Sadar Hospital (CSH), officers said on Saturday. This comes in the wake of the Jharkhand high court on Wednesday ordering the state government to immediately register an FIR in the matter and submit an affidavit along with a copy of the FIR in the next hearing on February 18. "An FIR has been registered against one named and unnamed others under Sections 125, 271 and 272 of the BNS on the basis of a written complaint by the father of one of the victim's children. The CSH blood bank technician has been named in the FIR. Further information is ongoing," Tarun Kumar, Chaibasa Sadar PS officer-in-charge (OC) said....
