PRAYAGRAJ, May 27 -- Police have registered an FIR against a woman following the alleged suicide of a 23-year-old man from Sulemsarai, officials said on Monday. The case was filed by the victim's father, who accused the woman-identified as Sunidhi-of blackmail and abetment to suicide. Acting on the complaint and directions from senior officers, Dhoomanganj police registered a named FIR and began an investigation. According to the complainant, his youngest son died on May 6 after consuming a poisonous substance. The family alleged that he had been in contact with the woman over the phone and had developed a relationship with her. The father claimed that the woman allegedly demanded money, jewellery, clothes and other expensive items from his son. He alleged that she repeatedly blackmailed him, which pushed the youth into distress. Police said they are examining mobile chat records, call detail records (CDRs), and bank transactions as part of the probe. The complainant also alleged that police had initially failed to register the case despite receiving a written complaint. However, after approaching senior officials, FIR was finally lodged. SHO of Dhoomanganj police station Dhananjay Pandey said that further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. The body of a man was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside his house under suspicious circumstances. Family members rushed him to the CHC, where doctors pronounced him dead. Citing injury marks on his head, his sister has raised suspicions of foul play. The police have sent body for post-mortem examination and have initiated an investigation into the matter. The deceased, who resided under Maheshganj police station area of Pratapgarh, had dropped off his wife, and two children, at his in-laws' house, two days prior to the incident. On Tuesday, he was alone at home. His body was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside the house under suspicious circumstances. His nephew, was shocked to receive a message on Instagram sent from an ID named 'Shiv Shakti' informing him that his uncle had committed suicide by hanging himself. Upon receiving the message, he rushed to the scene of the incident and with the help of neighbours, brought his uncle down from the noose and took him to Kunda CHC for medical treatment. htc...
