LUCKNOW, Sept. 18 -- The King George's Medical University (KGMU) on Thursday hoisted a massive 100 foot national flag, measuring 30 ft x 20 ft, at Samvidhan Sthal on its campus, as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The flag was hoisted in the presence of deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak and KGMU vice-chancellor prof Soniya Nityanand. A separate ceremony was organised at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Convention Centre, where Pathak was the chief guest. As part of the service initiatives, KGMU and its associated institutions adopted 519 tuberculosis patients and distributed nutritional kits to them. Pathak said the fight against tuberculosis needed sustained collective efforts. The university also administered the third dose of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine free of cost to 110 final-year MBBS women students, aimed at protecting them against cervical cancer....
