LUCKNOW, Aug. 26 -- Forest officials have sought the help of an expert team from Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR) to catch a tiger that killed a man in the Maholi range of Sitapur district on August 22. "The tiger is a sub-adult that may have been recently separated from its mother. We are working to rescue the animal, which can be about two years old," said Naveen Khandelwal, the divisional forest officer of Sitapur. Dr Daya, an expert in tranquilising wild animals, has reached Sitapur, officials said, adding a camp has been set up in the forest area where teams were camping to run the rescue operation round the clock. The killing took place in Narni village, while the panic regarding the tiger's presence is affecting locals in at least six villages. "Locals have been asked not to move out after evening, and to leave home only in groups," said a forest officer. htc...
