LUCKNOW, Sept. 19 -- A 65-year-old woman was found murdered at her home in Lucknow's Banthra area on Friday morning, with her throat slit. The deceased, identified as Chhedana, lived alone in Khurrampur village after the death of her husband around six years ago, said police. A woman who went to her house to deliver milk found Chhedana lying in pool of blood. Both gates of the house were locked from inside, while the door leading to terrace was found open, raising suspicion that assailant may have entered or escaped through terrace. DCP (south) Mohammad Mushtaq said: "Prima facie, it appears that someone entered the house through the terrace and committed the murder. A case has been registered against an unidentified person under the murder section. Four teams have been formed to work out case." Police found two knives at the scene. A vegetable cutting knife was lying on the floor, while another knife was found under the pillow on the victim's cot. Chhedana's husband Shankarlal had died six years ago. Her two daughters, Ram Janki and Archana, are married and live with their respective families in Balaganj and Thakurganj. Ram Janki told police that her mother usually wore gold chain, earrings and anklets, but none of these ornaments were found on her body after the murder.
