Doon, US Nagar, Haridwar account for over 79% deletions
Dehradun, Oct. 4 -- Three districts - Dehradun, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar - account for 83,438, or 79.72%, of the total 104,708 voter removals under admitted objections across the state's 70 assembly constituencies, constituency-wise data from the CEO's office showed.
The three districts together have 30 assembly constituencies, accounting for 42.86% of the state's 70 constituencies, but contributed nearly four-fifths of the 104,708 voters removed under admitted objections under Form 7 (used to object to a voter's inclusion or seek deletion of an existing entry, including cases of death, shifting or duplication) and Form 8 (used for shifting residence, correcting details).
Overall, the data shows that 83,438 admitted objections that resulted in voter removals came from these three districts.
Dehradun reported the most voter removals among the three districts at 32,050, accounting for 30.61% of the state's total electorate before the SIR. Chakrata constituency (MLA Pritam Singh, Congress) recorded 968 removals , Vikasnagar (MLA Munna Singh Chauhan, BJP) logged 2,717, Sahaspur (MLA Sahdev Singh Pundir, BJP) logged 4,175 , Dharampur (MLA Vinod Chamoli, BJP) logged 3,886 , Raipur (MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, BJP) logged 1,806 , Rajpur Road (MLA Khajan Das, BJP) logged 2,717, Dehradun Cantt (MLA Savita Kapoor, BJP) logged 3,351, Mussoorie (MLA Ganesh Joshi, BJP) logged 4,558, Doiwala (MLA Brij Bhushan Gairola, BJP) logged 3,903 and Rishikesh (MLA Prem Chand Aggarwal, BJP). logged 3,969 deletions.
Udham Singh Nagar district recorded 28,183 removals, or 26.91% of the statewide total, from its nine constituencies. The district recorded 3,830 removals in Jaspur (MLA Adesh Singh Chauhan, Congress), 3,587 in Kashipur (MLA Trilok Singh Cheema, BJP), 4,662 in Bazpur (MLA Yashpal Arya, Congress), 5,505 in Gadarpur (MLA Arvind Pandey, BJP), 2,309 in Rudrapur (MLA Shiv Arora, BJP), 4,439 in Kichha (MLA Tilak Raj Behar, Congress), 1,288 in Sitarganj (MLA Saurabh Bahuguna, BJP), 1,400 in Nanakmatta (MLA Gopal Singh Rana, Congress) and 1,163 in Khatima (MLA Bhuvan Chandra Kapri, Congress).
Haridwar, with 11 assembly constituencies, recorded 23,205 removals, accounting for 22.16% of the state total. The figures were 1,049 in Haridwar (MLA Madan Kaushik, BJP), 1,083 in BHEL Ranipur (MLA Adesh Chauhan, BJP), 1,989 in Jwalapur (MLA Ravi Bahadur, Congress), 2,052 in Bhagwanpur (MLA Mamta Rakesh, Congress), 2,018 in Jhabrera (MLA Virendra Kumar, Congress), 1,376 in Piran Kaliyar (MLA Mohammad Furkan Ahmed, Congress), 911 in Roorkee (MLA Pradeep Batra, BJP), 1,790 in Khanpur (MLA Umesh Kumar, Independent), 1,170 in Manglaur (MLA Qazi Mohammad Nizamuddin, Congress), 3,840 in Laksar (MLA Mohammad Shehzad, BSP) and 5,927 in Haridwar Rural (MLA Anupama Rawat, Congress)....
