Lucknow, Aug. 10 -- The Helping Hearts Foundation organised a one-day seminar on the changing definitions, concepts and challenges of heart diseases, bringing together cardiologists, doctors and medical experts from across the country. The seminar was chaired by cardiologist Dr Nakul Sinha. It began with sessions by Dr PB Jayagopal from Kerala and Dr Anil Dhal from Delhi, who discussed myths and facts about heart diseases as well as emerging treatment options. Their presentations led to an interactive discussion among the participating doctors and scientists, according to a press release issued on Sunday. Dr Rajiv Agrawal from Meerut delivered a talk on lipid management. Dr Akshay Pradhan, Dr Abhishek Shukla and Dr Amit Gupta spoke on hyperkalemia and vaccination. Dr Sushil Gupta and Dr Madhukar Rai shared their views on obesity and weight management. During the day-long clinical discussions, Dr Danish, Dr Mahim Saran, Dr Sudarshan Vijay, Dr Sharat Chandra and Dr Rupali Khanna presented patient cases for discussion. Dr Nakul Sinha moderated the question-and-answer sessions throughout the programme. Helping Hearts Foundation secretary Jyoti Sinha organised an interaction between doctors, journalists and intellectuals on communication gaps and misconceptions between medical professionals and patients. The discussion also focused on the need for a more accessible healthcare system. Sudhir Mishra, Sharat Pradhan, Ravi Bhatt, Chandrashekhar Verma and Dr Prabha took part in the interaction.
