Lucknow, Aug. 18 -- CCTV cameras have been installed in all operational barracks of prisons across Uttar Pradesh, the Prisons Administration and Reform Services headquarters said in a release issued on Monday. The development was reviewed during a meeting chaired by director general of prisons and reform services PC Meena at the department headquarters in Lucknow on Monday. According to the release, the meeting reviewed the progress of various issues related to prison administration and the status of pending cases. The meeting reviewed pending departmental proceedings at the level of deputy inspector generals, senior superintendents and superintendents of prisons, along with pending complaints and human rights-related cases. The transfer of prisoners to Adarsh Jail and installation and functioning of CCTV cameras in all operational barracks was also discussed. htc...
