LUCKNOW, Feb. 9 -- The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) arrested a husband-and-wife duo in Lucknow and seized illegal drugs worth around Rs.63 lakh, officials said on Sunday. The arrested accused were identified as Shravan Kumar Nishad and his wife Meena Devi, residents of the Thakurganj area of the Lucknow Police Commissionerate. The duo was arrested on Saturday night from their residence at Gau Ghat, Daulatganj, following a targeted operation by the ANTF Lucknow unit. Police said 310 grams of heroin and 135 grams of opium were recovered from their possession. Besides the narcotics, the ANTF team also seized one mobile phone and Rs.2,860 in cash. A case has been registered against the couple at Thakurganj police station under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. htc...
