Club manager's car vandalised outside house
lucknow, Feb. 11 -- Police said they were probing an incident wherein a car parked outside a house in Chinhat's Loulai area was vandalised by miscreants on Sunday night. They, however, denied claims of gunfire in the area.
The vehicle belongs to Rajendra Maurya, general manager of Mai Bar Club at Summit Building. Maurya told police that the incident occurred shortly after he returned home from the club. According to police, Maurya alleged that a dispute had arisen four to five days ago with a group of individuals who were denied entry to the club, following which he lodged a complaint at the Vibhuti Khand police post.
Maurya alleged that the attack was carried out in retaliation and claimed that the assailants also opened fire, triggering panic among his family members. He said the attackers had allegedly conducted reconnaissance before carrying out the act.
However, Chinhat police said CCTV footage from the area showed only vandalism of the parked vehicle. "The CCTV footage has been reviewed, in which it has been confirmed that two individuals broke the windows of a parked car. No firing incident was found," Chinhat police said in an official statement.
Police added that efforts are underway to identify the suspects based on CCTV footage. "Upon receiving a written complaint, further legal action will be initiated," the statement said adding that an investigation is ongoing. htc...
