PRAYAGRAJ, July 14 -- A 15-year-old schoolboy sustained serious facial injuries after coming into contact with a Chinese kite string while riding to his coaching centre on a scooter in Prayagraj on Sunday evening, raising fresh concerns over the continued sale and use of the banned string. The incident took place near the Kalindipuram petrol pump around 6pm when Riddhiman Kannaujia, a Class 9 student and son of advocate Alok Kannaujia, was travelling with his sister. The sharp kite string allegedly slashed his forehead, near his right eye and nose, causing deep cuts. He also fell off the scooter after the incident. Bystanders rushed the bleeding teenager to a hospital, where he was treated and later discharged. The boy's family has lodged a complaint with the police, demanding strict action against those selling and using Chinese kite string. Dhoomanganj police said the matter is being investigated based on the complaint. htc...
