PRAYAGRAJ, May 2 -- One boy drowned while bathing in the Tons River under Meja police station area of Prayagraj on Friday while another was pulled out in a critical condition and is undergoing treatment. The incident occurred in Chauki village. According to reports, Arpit Yadav (8) had gone to bathe near the riverbank along with his companion Shivam (7). During bathing, both children reportedly lost their balance and slipped into deeper water. Hearing screams from the riverbank, nearby villagers alerted fishermen, who immediately jumped into the river and managed to rescue both boys. They were rushed to the Ramnagar Community Health Center, where doctors declared Arpit Yadav dead.
