Cardiology unit to resume at Balrampur hosp after over 2 yrs
LUCKNOW, Sept. 4 -- The 25-bed cardiology unit at Balrampur Hospital is set to resume operations after remaining shut since 2023.
The unit closed after cardiologists posted there retired one by one, with the OPD shutting down following the retirement of the sole cardiologist in 2023. Since then, around 100 cardiac patients visiting the OPD daily were being attended by general medicine doctors, while severe cases were referred to Lohia RMLIMS and KGMU's Lari Cardiology department.
The hospital has a capacity of more than 700 beds and sees around 8,000 patients daily in its OPD.
Director, Dr BKS Chauhan said Dr Praveen Pradhan has been re-appointed as cardiologist at the hospital. The process of reactivating the unit will commence with his posting, after which admission and treatment services will be made available. HTC...
