LUCKNOW, July 20 -- Burglars broke into the locked house of a doctor in Viram Khand under the Gomti Nagar police station limits and decamped with jewellery worth Rs.40-50 lakh, cash, bank documents and a bank locker key while the family was away on a pilgrimage, police said on Sunday. According to the FIR, complainant Dr Nishant Jaiswal, a medical officer posted in Kasganj district, had travelled to Trimbakeshwar in Nashik with his family on July 12. The family returned home around 8 am on Sunday to find the house ransacked. The burglars stole gold and silver jewellery worth Rs.40-50 lakh, Rs.50,000 in cash, bank passbooks, cheque books, important banking documents and the key to the family's bank locker, raising concerns over the security of valuables kept in the locker.
