LUCKNOW, Oct. 2 -- Sarojininagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh on Thursday announced a series of initiatives for senior citizens, including dedicated cyber awareness sessions with police experts, a religious trip and a musical evening, at an International Older Persons Day event organised by the Second Innings Senior Citizens Club at BBAU. Addressing the gathering, Singh said the safety, health, dignity and continued social engagement of senior citizens should remain a priority. He said more than 8,500 senior citizens from Sarojininagar had been taken on free visits to Ayodhya through the Ram Rath initiative over the past four-and-a-half years, with transport, food and return arrangements. The newly launched Shyam Rath would facilitate visits to Khatu Shyam Ji, while a religious trip would also be organised for interested members of the club. Singh announced special cyber safety sessions with police cyber experts to educate elderly people about digital fraud, OTPs, PINs, online banking and "digital arrest" scams.
