LUCKNOW, May 27 -- What began as a casual Sunday outing turned into a tragedy for two families in Lucknow after two young friends one a schoolboy and the other a salesman died in a horrific road accident while performing stunts on a scooter. The accident took place on the Agra expressway service lane, where their two-wheeler collided head-on with an SUV, killing both on the spot. The victims were identified as Piyush Gehlot (15), a class 8 student, and Ayush Kumar (18), who worked as a salesman in a local store. Both were residents of Bulaki Adda locality in Lucknow and were known to be close friends. According to Piyush's father, Ravi Kumar, the boys left home around noon on Sunday. "They said they were going for a bath. We had no idea they were heading out to ride on the expressway," Ravi said. Instead of visiting a pond, the boys took Ayush's scooter and began riding along the Agra-Lucknow expressway's service lane. Eyewitnesses and preliminary police investigation suggest that the duo was attempting dangerous stunts on the scooter possibly wheelies or zig-zag manoeuvres when tragedy struck. Their scooter reportedly lost balance and veered into the opposite lane, directly in the path of an SUV. The driver of the SUV, Ravi Ranjan (34), a field officer with a govt bank posted in Delhi, was returning with his family from Hasanganj in Unnao to Delhi when the crash occurred. A police team transported the injured to a hospital. However, doctors declared both dead on arrival.HTC...
