VARANASI, April 22 -- Banaras Hindu University (BHU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the BHU America Foundation (BHUAF) and distinguished scientists Dr Nirbhay Kumar and Dr Geetha Bansal, pledging a USD 60,000 (approximately Rs.50 lakh) donation. The funds will establish scholarships and research assistance for students in the department of biochemistry, Institute of Science, BHU. The initiative will be disbursed in two tranches of Rs.25 lakh each. The first tranche, available starting in 2026, will support five merit-cum-means scholarships of Rs.25,000 per year for second-year MSc Biochemistry students.
