b.r.o completes rebuilding of kulagar bridge after collapse
Pithoragarh, Sept. 6 -- The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) on Friday restored vehicular movement on the 170-metre-long Bailey bridge at Kulagar on the Dharchula-Gunji border road, officials said on Saturday.
The bridge was washed away on August 18 following a landslide induced by heavy rainfall.
Dharchula sub-divisional magistrate Ashish Joshi said BRO completed the reconstruction in just 16 days. "The bridge was washed away in the rains on August 18 after being hit by heavy boulders. The BRO team, comprising one assistant engineer, six junior engineers and 35 labourers, completed the reconstruction of the bridge in 16 days, restoring transportation to the border valleys," said SDM. htc...
