At 82, actor Anil Rastogi to hit century of plays
India, Dec. 17 -- Veteran actor Anil Rastogi is set to hit the stage for his 100th play on December 22. The 82-year-old scientist-turned-actor, best known for his role in Ishaqzaade (2012), will be performing in the autobiographical play Behind The Curtain, which is inspired by Anton Chekhov's classic The Swan Song.

"She is a very talented National School of Drama alumnus, and this is a special occasion, so she got it written by Delhi-based writer Yash Yogi. The script, in an auto-biographical style, chronicles my life journey as a scientist and actor from the lens of an old man who is suffering from dementia. Popular TV actor Ambrish Bobby will play my younger version. It will also have live singing."
Three of his last four plays, in which he was the protagonist, have been selected for the prestigious Bharat Rang Mahotsav. "In 2023 and 2024 my plays were staged, and my play Daddy will be staged again in February."
Rastogi was last seen in feature films Ek Chatur Naar and Bengal 1947. He is soon shooting for Neelesh Misra's short film on dementia, Ritam Srivastava's OTT series, and Prakash Jha's next film....
