ANTF arrests Bbk drug peddler with heroin worth Rs.1.2 cr
LUCKNOW, Sept. 20 -- The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) arrested an alleged drug trafficker in Barabanki and seized 594 grams of heroin worth an estimated Rs.1.2 crore from his possession, officials said on Saturday.
The accused, identified as Ayush Yadav, a resident of Parsola village in the Jaidpur area of Barabanki, was arrested on Friday near the Ayodhya-bound road, around 100 metres from the Ahmedpur toll plaza.
The ANTF team also recovered an Android mobile phone and Rs.410 in cash from him.
According to the ANTF, Yadav told investigators that he had been supplying heroin with a partner for some time. The duo allegedly purchased the contraband at relatively low prices. His partner would then identify customers and sell the heroin at higher prices.
The profits were shared between the two, the agency said.
The agency said Yadav's questioning provided "useful information".
Teams are now working to trace both the forward and backward links of the drug network, the agency said.htc...
