Agra, Aug. 10 -- Students from the Law Faculty of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) held a 'Black Coat March' on Saturday in solidarity with fellow students protesting primarily against a recent fee hike. Meanwhile, the AMU administration has constituted two committees to address key concerns, including the fee increase. The student agitation, which began a week ago over the fee hike, took a tense turn on Friday when police intervened and detained a few students who attempted to offer namaz on the road near the Bab-e-Syed Gate of the university. As part of Saturday's protest, law faculty students marched across the campus wearing black coats. Protesters also sent Rakhis to the Prime Minister and the UP chief minister, requesting "protection" from what they described as harassment by the university administration. The AMU PRO issued a press release on Saturday stating that two committees have been formed following a consultative meeting held on August 6, 2025, between university officials and student representatives.htc...
