LUCKNOW, Feb. 11 -- Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University has signed a memorandum of understanding with automation company Siemens to collaborate on providing software and training to engineering students. The initiative aims to enhance students' employability and support the country's semiconductor mission. Through its CSR funds, the company will provide seven software packages to the university, valued at over Rs.500 crore, said Anuj Kumar Sharma, dean (Academics), Centre of Advanced Studies, AKTU. Vice-chancellor Prof JP Pandey said the collaboration would help enhance students' employability. "Students will be trained in semiconductor design and packaging along with automation. They will be able to contribute to the central government's Semiconductor Mission, and it will also help reduce dependence on semiconductor imports," Pandey said.HTC...
