Bahraich, March 24 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to visit Bahraich on March 25 when he will allot land to 136 families resettled from Bharthapur village, which is situated deep within the core area of the Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary (KWS). A residential colony is being developed at Semrahna village under Motipur (Mihipurwa tehsil) for the resettlement. Ahead of the chief minister's visit, district magistrate Akshay Tripathi conducted a detailed review of arrangements at the venue. Amit Pathak, inspector general of police (Devipatan Range), along with RN Singh, superintendent of police, also conducted a high-level inspection. Located nearly 122 kilometers from the district headquarters, Bharthapur village is accessible only via forest tracks and boat routes. Following the death of nine people in a boat mishap on October 29, 2025, the chief minister conducted an aerial survey of the village and met grieving families on November 3. He announced that all families from the "unsafe" village would be resettled within a month. htc...
