LUCKNOW, April 4 -- Mohanlalganj police rescued a 17-year-old girl within 48 hours of her alleged abduction and arrested the accused on Friday. According to an official police press release, a complaint was lodged on March 31 stating that the minor had been lured away from her house on the intervening night of March 30 and 31. The complainant alleged that the accused, identified as Akash, 19, a resident of Shivdhara village in Mohanlalganj, had enticed his sister and fled with her. Following the complaint, Mohanlalganj police registered an FIR under relevant sections 87 and 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and formed a team to trace the girl. Police launched a search operation in and around the area, tracking leads and gathering local intelligence. On April 2, the police traced and rescued the minor from the Mohanlalganj area.
