35-year-old lawyer 'jumps to death' in Kanpur court complex
KANPUR, April 24 -- A 35-year-old lawyer allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of the Kanpur court complex on Thursday, triggering chaos among hundreds of colleagues gathered in the building.
The lawyer was rushed to UHM hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Kotwali police reached the scene, recovered his mobile phone, and sent the body for postmortem examination.
It was later found that the lawyer had posted a two-page note to his WhatsApp status moments before the incident. In it, he wrote of years of financial strain, his father's deteriorating health, and the repeated failure to clear the PCSJ examination despite completing his LLB in 2016.
