GORAKHPUR, June 1 -- Two youths were killed after being hit by a train near the Mehra locality under the Kotwali police station area of Deoria district on Sunday. Police suspect that substance abuse may have played a role in the incident and are investigating whether the victims were under the influence of intoxicants at the time of the accident. Police said the two youths were reportedly moving near the railway track when they were struck by a passing train. Both died on the spot after sustaining severe injuries.
