Dehradun, Sept. 27 -- A judge of the Delhi bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has recused himself from hearing a petition filed by Uttarakhand-cadre Indian Forest Service (IFoS) officer Sanjiv Chaturverdi challenging the November 2021 order of the Uttarakhand government related to the Appraisal Report Channel of IFoS officers, with this being the 17th judicial officer for recusing himself from hearing the case. The September 21 order states: "After hearing the matter for some time, Hon'ble Mr. Rajveer Singh Verma, Member (J), recuses himself from hearing this matter. The Registry is directed to list the matter before the appropriate Bench and notify the same." According to the details provided, so far two Supreme Court judges, four judges of the Nainital circuit bench of the Uttarakhand high court, nine judges of the CAT, including its chairman, and two judges from the district judiciary have recused themselves from hearing cases involving Chaturvedi. Earlier, in Sept-Oct 2025, justice Alok Verma and Justice Ravindra Maithani of the Nainital circuit bench of the Uttarakhand HC had also recused themselves from hearing a contempt case filed by Chaturvedi against CAT members and the Registry for alleged wilful disobedience of a stay order passed by the high court. In May 2023, justice Rakesh Thapliyal, another judge of the high court, recused himself from hearing Chaturvedi's case concerning the summoning of documents relating to an anti-corruption investigation he had undertaken as CVO of AIIMS in connection with his Appraisal Report case....
