PATNA, Sept. 28 -- With the only four days left before the final publication of electoral rolls as per Special Intensive Revision ( SIR) conducted in Bihar, there are possibilities that around 120,000-130,000 more names could figure in the final updated list to be published on September 30. The final updated electoral rolls could have around 73.7 million voters , which will be around 520,000 less than the last updated electoral rolls of 78.9 million voters as on June this year. "There could be around 12-13 lakh more additions based on the number of applications for inclusion of names of voters and also deletions of names of voters. There were also objections / claims submitted by political parties. The disposal of all applications are nearly complete with the final processes going on," said an election official in the state election department, Going by the figures of claims/ objections, a total of 153,200 applications were received from new voters above the age of 18 for inclusion of names while there were 33,326 applications put forth by eligible voters for inclusion of names. Similarly, 207,000 applications were received for exclusion of names on account of shifting, duplicate names or dead voters. Recognised political parties had only given 25 applications for inclusion of names of voters and 103 applications for exclusion of names , as per ECI data....
