Lucknow, Aug. 2 -- Uttar Pradesh DGP Rajeev Krishna has directed the implementation of a weekly "Weekend Training Target" for all police personnel. The initiative is designed to make training, skill upgradation and professional development a regular feature of policing without affecting routine law and order duties. Under it, every police officer and employee will be required to complete a designated online training course available on the Government of India's iGOT Karmayogi Portal over the weekend, with compliance and participation to be reviewed every Monday. According to the DGP, the initiative is in line with CM Yogi Adityanath's vision of building a professionally competent, technologically equipped and citizen-centric police force through continuous capacity building and modern governance practices. The DGP said the training programme would not merely focus on completing online courses but would emphasise measurable improvements in knowledge, professional competence and job performance. Regular monitoring will assess participation, learning outcomes and the practical impact of the training on policing. The Uttar Pradesh Police's Capacity Building Unit (CBU), constituted under the DGP, has been tasked with regularly reviewing the force's training performance on the iGOT Karmayogi portal. htc...
