GORAKHPUR, July 24 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday asserted that the spiritual wisdom imparted through Shri Ram Katha and Shrimad Bhagwat Katha guides people towards a disciplined, meaningful, and righteous life. He said that a life devoid of devotion is engulfed in darkness, disorder, and ignorance. Addressing devotees at the inauguration of a seven-day Shri Ram Katha at the Gorakhnath Temple, Adityanath said the name of Shri Ram is deeply intertwined with the faith and consciousness of every Indian. "Lord Ram resides in the heart and soul of every Indian. Every follower of Sanatan Dharma feels a deep personal connection with the name of Shri Ram, irrespective of age or stage of life," he said. The CM said that greetings such as "Jai Shri Ram" and "Ram Ram Ji" reflect the cultural identity and values of Sanatan Dharma. Describing Uttar Pradesh as the spiritual heartland of the country, Adityanath said, "When people seek the ideals of righteousness, they look towards Ayodhya and Lord Ram. Kashi teaches the mysteries of life, Mathura and Vrindavan inspire devotion, while Prayagraj exemplifies social harmony." Renowned storyteller Acharya Shantanu Ji Maharaj from Prayagraj commenced the Shri Ram Katha, which will be held daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. over the next seven days. The CM also held a Janta Darshan in the morning at the Gorakhnath Temple, where he assured financial assistance to people suffering from serious illnesses, saying that no one would be forced to discontinue treatment due to a lack of money.
