VARANASI, April 18 -- Noted physicist and author of Concepts of Physics, Padma Shri Prof HC Verma, on Friday, said that gender can never be a barrier to understanding the laws of nature. Speaking as the chief guest at the launch of the science magazine, 'Achintya 5.0: Women's Special Edition,' at BHU, he highlighted the importance of women in science. Prof Verma, professor emeritus at IIT Kanpur, explained that a scientist's mind functions by observing nature and asking questions, emphasising that science is not about rote memorisation. He stressed that learning must be a self-driven process, free from external pressureand advised students never to underestimate their potential while cautioning them against chasing lucrative job packages. htc...
