'Ek Aur Dronacharya' staged at Bhatkhande
LUCKNOW, July 15 -- A play 'Ek Aur Dronacharya' was staged at Kalamandapam auditorium of Bhatkhande Sankriti Vishwavidyalay here on Monday. It was readied during a month-long summer workshop organised by Bhartendu Natya Academy. It was written by Shankar Shesh and directed by Privendra Singh.
The play compared a present-day teacher to Dronacharya, the royal preceptor to both the Kauravas and the Pandavas. On one hand, incidents from Dronacharya's life, including he asking for Eklavya's thumb as Guru Dakshina, Draupadi's disrobing and Yudhishthir's 'Naro va Kunjaro' were depicted, the tragedy of a character Arvind's life were also shown on the other.
