JAMMU, July 27 -- Four days on, police remain clueless about a 28-year-old employee of agriculture department, Deepak Kumar of Majalta in Udhampur district reported missing since July 22. Kumar, a resident of Sail village in Majalta tehsil of Udhampur district, had left for his office on July 22 but remains missing since then. A senior police officer said, "We recovered his motorcycle from the Manwal area. His mobile phone remains switched off. It appears that he has either gone underground or has left with someone." The officer attributed his assumptions to some financial transactions done by Kumar. "We checked his accounts and found he has conducted some financial transactions running into lakhs. Our probe is on and we are exploring all angles but it appears that he was investing money into some online applications," he said. The officer further informed that Kumar had also been handling funds of the agriculture department.The department was about to switch over to digital transactions in another 10 to 15 days, he said.Meanwhile, the family and relatives have put up posters in the Majalta area seeking information about his whereabouts. htc...
